Tolomatic Slide-Rite™ and Slide-Rite™ CR Gearboxes

Tolomatic Slide-Rite Gearboxes

R.M. Hoffman has the world's LARGEST stock of Slide-Rite™ Gearboxes. We stock quantities of all sizes.

Tolomatic's Slide-Rite™ Gearboxes consist of two helical gears that mesh at right angles to turn power around any corner. They can operate in either direction and slide axially along keyed shafts. This unique floating design maintains perfect shaft alignment for easy installation. Completely leak-proof, it has shaft speeds up to 1200 RPM and is pre-lubricated and ready for installation.

Tolomatic's Slide-Rite™ CR has all the advantages of the Slide-Rite (leak-proof, floats in either direction on keyed shafts, maintains perfect alignment, easy  to install) PLUS it is corrosion resistant. The Slide-Rite CR is the perfect choice for applications that require hostile environments.

Gearbox Selection Procedure

1.  Determine Input Torque and RPM Required
To select the Slide-Rite gearbox required for your application, you must determine the input torque and RPM required for your application. The maximum RPM rating for the Slide-Rite is 1200 RPM.

2.  Refer to the Performance Data page for the Ratio you have selected
Find your input torque in inch-pounds for the selected gearbox unit on the graph and intersect it with the RPM of the input shaft. In general, gearbox capacity increases as listed below:

  • Slide-Rite: Compact
    • Compact Series 1:1 Ratio
  • Slide-Rite: Standard
    • Standard Series 1:1 Ratio
    • Standard Series 3:2 Ratio
    • Standard Series 2:1 Ratio

3.  Select proper bore size
After gearbox series selection, choose the bore size that suits your shaft requirements.

4.  Determine your output torque
Multiply the input torque by the gearbox's efficiency times the gear ratio.
