Tolomatic Caliper Disc Brakes
Tolomatic offers caliper disc brakes with pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, hydraulic/mechanical, or spring applied actuation as well as discs, hubs, and intensifiers.
Pneumatic Brakes
- Maximum torque ratings up to 2076 lb-in on a 16” disc
- Double acting or single acting
- Replaceable, high-grade friction material
- Aluminum construction with zinc plated bolts and Buna-N seals
- Options:
- EPR seals, Viton® seals
- Retractable pistons, floating bracket
Hydraulic Brakes
- Maximum torque ratings up to 66432 lb-in on a 16” disc
- Double acting or single acting
- Replaceable, high-grade friction material
- Aluminum or cast iron construction with zinc plated bolts, bleeder screws, and Buna-N seals
- Options:
- EPR seals, Viton® seals
- Retractable pistons, floating bracket
Mechanical Brakes
- Maximum torque ratings up to 67466 lb-in on a 16” disc
- Single acting
- Replaceable, high-grade friction material
- Aluminum or cast iron construction with zinc plated bolts
- Options:
- Short lever, long lever, or machined cam lever
Hydraulic/Mechanical Brakes
- Maximum torque ratings up to 30376 lb-in on a 16”disc
- Single acting
- Replaceable, high-grade friction material
- Aluminum or cast iron construction with zinc plated bolts, bleeder screws, and EPR seals
- Options:
- Buna-N seals, Viton® seals
- Floating bracket
Spring Applied Brakes
- Maximum torque ratings up to 62092 lb-in on a 16” disc
- Braking is applied when hydraulic pressure (pneumatic units available) is released
- Double acting or single acting with Belleville® spring washers
- Replaceable, high-grade friction material
- Aluminum or cast iron construction with zinc plated bolts and Buna-N seals
- Options:
- EPR seals
- Retractable pistons
- Manual lining wear compensators
Discs and Hubs
- Carbon 1010 steel, flatness within 0.010”
- Stress relieved, Blanchard ground to an 80 RMS microinch finish
- Socket head cap screw fasteners, keyway set screws
- Discs/Hubs available:
- Fixed hub and disc assemblies
- Fixed hub and disc assemblies with QD bushings
- QD bushings and hubs
- One-piece hub and disc
- Blank disc
- Disc with bolt circles and pilot holes
- Ventilated disc
Intensifier
- Converts a low pressure pneumatic input to a high pressure hydraulic output
- Operating at higher pressure can often eliminate the need for additional calipers
- Input to output ratio of 1:10
- Maximum pneumatic pressure of 100 PSI, maximum hydraulic pressure of 1000 PSI
- Hard coated aluminum cylinder
- U-cup piston seal for pneumatic cylinder, Buna-N O-ring seal for hydraulic cylinder
- Options:
- EPR or Viton® seal for hydraulic cylinder
