Tolomatic Pneumatic Magnetically Coupled Cylinders & Slides

Tolomatic Pneumatic Rodless Band Cylinders and Slides

The high breakaway limits of magnetically coupled actuators make these units a good choice when safety is important. They offer no external leakage and are available in stainless-steel for cleanroom applications. Tolomatic has both cylinder and slide style actuators.

MG and MGS Magnetically Coupled Cylinders and Slides

  • Stroke lengths up to 56”
  • Moment load capacities up to 35 lb-in
  • Maximum thrust capacities up to 70 lb at 100 PSI depending on bore size
  • Temperature range from 0° to 170° F
  • Air or oil actuated
  • No mechanical connection of the carrier to the piston
  • Fully enclosed anodized aluminum actuator block
    • Durability and corrosion resistance
    • Prevents contaminants from entering or escaping – ideal for applications with environmental concerns
    • Wiper to keep contaminants and moisture at bay for smooth performance
  • Slide models provide exceptional rigidity in a low profile design
    • End-of-Stroke adjustment
    • Hardened steel shafts for rigidity and strength
    • Multiple-ported blocks to maximize air hook-up options
    • Accommodates optional shock absorbers
  • Options:
    • Foot mounts (Cylinders)
    • Floating mount bracket (Cylinders) to compensate for non-parallelism between the actuator and an externally guided load
    • Shock absorbers (Slides)
    • Reed, Triac, and Hall-effect switches, QD couplers
    • Proximity sensors (Slides) for end-of-stroke

Rodless Actuator Benefits

Space Savings:

A typical rod style actuator with a 2-inch body size and an 8-inch stroke has an approximate overall length when the rod is extended of 21.75 inches.

The equivalent 2-inch body size, 8-inch stroke rodless actuator has an overall length of 14.3 inches. Since the stroke is contained within the actuator itself, there is a 34% smaller footprint than a rod style. As the stroke length increases, so does the space savings of a rodless actuator.Tolomatic Rodless Actuator Benefits

Supported Loads:

A rodless actuator guides and supports the load throughout the entire stroke length. Utilizing a variety of different bearing and load carrying design techniques, bending moments are better controlled resulting in long wear without seal or bearing stress.
