Tolomatic GSA/GSM Electric Rod-Style Actuators

The GSA/GSM series of guided screw actuators combines a rod screw actuator with mounting blocks, guide rods and bearings. A complete selection of sizes, options and system components are available. The GSA/GSM series offers high performance, dependability and mounting flexibility for pivotal applications.
Available in inch (GSA) or metric (GSM) sizes
Specifications and Options
- Combines a rod screw actuator with mounting blocks, guide rods, and bearings
- Strokes in any incremental length up to 36”
- Maximum thrust up to 2700 lb
- Temperature range from 40° to 130° F (4° to 54° C)
- Good resistance to side loading
- Wide tooling plate for end effector mounting
- Multiple screw technologies available:
- Solid nuts of engineered resin for quiet performance at the lowest cost – 5 choices
- Recirculating ball nuts for positioning accuracy, repeatability, and long life, low-backlash available – 3 choices
- High thrust bearing assembly eliminates runout and isolates linear forces from drive shaft, engineered resin bearing provides continuous support of screw
- Hardened steel guide rods provide high rigidity and low deflection
- Four composite or linear ball bearings support the load for smooth, consistent motion
- Lubrication wick supplies lube for life of actuator
- Rod wiper protects housing from contaminant ingress for extended life
- External switch channels on all sides
- Multiple mounting options
- Motor can be mounted in-line or reverse-parallel (1:1 or 2:1 belt ratio)
- Options:
- Oversized guide rods for increased rigidity and lower deflection
- Stop collars on guide rods for extra safety with heavy loads, available in stainless steel
- Stainless steel guide rods and fasteners for corrosion protection (not available for use with linear ball bearings)
- High efficiency, single stage planetary gearheads in 5.5:1 and 10:1 ratios, fits NEMA 23 and 34 face motors
