The use of a reliable R+W Torque Limiter will isolate the driving from the driven elements within a matter of milliseconds, once the torque reaches a preset overload value. Incorporating R+W torque limiting couplings into modern machine design will help insure high productivity and higher profits.

  • Adjustable torque limits from 0.1 Nm to 2,800 Nm
  • Connects via clamp, conical clamp, or press-fit with conical clamp
  • Bores from 3 mm to 100 mm
  • Temperature range from -30° to +120°C
  • Optional sealed versions available

Torque Limiters for Elastic Direct Drives

R and W Torque Limiters

  • Vibration damping
  • Compensates for shaft misalignment up to 2 mm axial, 0.3 mm lateral, and 1.2° angular
  • Adjustable torque limits from 1 Nm to 900 Nm
  • Connects via clamp or press-fit with clamp
  • Bores from 5 mm to 80 mm
  • Temperature range dependent on elastomer insert, as wide as -30° to +120°C

Torque Limiters for Parallel Shaft Configuration

  • Integral bearings for timing belt pulley or sprocket gear
  • Adjustable torque limits from 0.1 Nm to 2,800 Nm
  • Connects via clamp or conical clamp; bolt circle (for sprocket or pulley)

  • Temperature range from -30° to +120°C

Torque Limiters for Heavy Duty Applications

R and W Torque Limiters

  • Available for inline shaft or parallel shaft (via sprocket or pulley) configurations
  • Integral gear coupling or elastomer insert available for inline shaft models
  • Can compensate for shaft misalignment up to 8 mm axial, 10 mm lateral, and 1.2° angular (gear coupling models); up to 2.5 mm axial, 0.7 mm lateral, and 1 grad* angular (elastomer insert models)
  • Adjustable torque limits from 1,000 Nm to 160,000 Nm
  • Connects via keyway, conical clamp, or splined shaft; bolt circle (for sprocket or pulley)
  • Bores from 40 mm to 290 mm
  • Bolt circle diameters from 220 mm to 570 mm
  • Temperature range of -30° to +120°C (as wide as -70° to +120°C for elastomer insert model, depending on elastomer choice)
