Splined Shaft Drive

Description

The challenge was to solve a high torque, very low speed output requirement having a splined shaft with the ablity to remove the driven shaft easily for maintenance reasons.

Nothing off the shelve would answer the many requirements of the customer.

Utilized a 1000:1 ratio system comprised of a standard worm gearbox, a standard planetary gearbox, a standard servo motor and a standard flexible coupling. Non-standards used were a planetary to worm input adapter, a customized spline shaft, a customized splined sleeve and a tangential pin to allow sleeve removal in short order.

The imagination to combine cost effective standards with several custom components answered all application requirements of our customer.
