Hybrid Lift Fixture

The challenge was to provide a method to install a heavy slip ring assembly into a tight space utilizing an Alumalift machine for up/down and left/right movement. The machine could be brought into close proximity to the application however, a specially fabricated extension arm was needed to fit the space available and securely hold the 80 pound, irregularly shaped, unbalanced part.

R.M. Hoffman Company considered the multiple needs of the customer, designed the lift arms, tested the arms to 4 times weight bearing, measured the deflection in 2 planes, and received a safety approval by the customer for purchase and use.
