Sierra foothills experience triggers charitable response

A long-time Sierra foothills rancher, R.M. Hoffman’s CEO Tom Hoffman is leading an initiative to bring relief to victims of the Butte fire now raging in Amador and Calaveras Counties. The Sunnyvale-based technology company is organizing a collection of the following designated items:
The items on the list will be collected until the end of October, with an initial delivery in about two weeks. Items may be dropped off or shipped to Hoffman’s Sunnyvale headquarters, 159 San Lazaro Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086, weekdays between 8 am and 5 pm.
As of Tuesday morning, September 15, the Butte Fire had racked up the following sobering statistics, as reported by the Los Angeles Times:
Hoffman also emphasized the need for cash donations. “For victims who have lost property – homes, outbuildings and vehicles – cash is critical. Defined contributions can be sent to both the Red Cross and the Salvation Army. To directly help firefighters and their families, we recommend contributions to The Cal Fire Foundation.
