History of R.M. Hoffman Company
In 1959, R.M. Hoffman Company was started by Richard M. Hoffman as a manufacturer’s representative specializing in clutches and brakes. Since then, the company has grown in size and expanded to include distribution, product modification, custom design, and manufacturing.
Richard Hoffman’s son, Thomas J. Hoffman, CPMR, joined the company in 1978 as a sales engineer. Over the next 12 years, Thomas worked his way up through the company, eventually taking over as President and Owner upon Richard Hoffman’s retirement in 1990.
Ten years later, Assembly and JIT (“Just-In-Time”) delivery was added for selected customers. In-house design, production, and assembly of components and subassemblies began in 2002. The following year, the company began focusing on small runs for semiconductor equipment OEM’s, medical equipment OEM’s, and packaging OEM’s.
In 2004, a White Room was installed, along with QA facilities, and an assembly room. A locker room, shower, and mini-gym were also added for employees’ use. The Company became ISO 9001:2000 certified in 2007.
With the many changes and improvements, R.M. Hoffman Company continues to provide outstanding service to its customers, while offering the quick response that our customers need. Our customers are our most valuable assets; our commitment to customer service is unwavering and backed-up with customer-oriented organizational structure and culture. We orchestrate our abilities with the customers' needs when it comes to specialty products and design. Our commitment to compliance with the ISO 9001:2000 standard is an additional step in total customer satisfaction and continual improvement of our quality management system.
